Skyjack uplifts Artists to transform Sacramento SACRAMENTO/USA, August 17, 2017 – Linamar Corporation’s (TSX-LNR) Skyjack division safely lifted artists from across the U.S. and the world to transform unused public space into vibrant art scenes during the inaugural Sacramento Mural Festival in California. Some of the murals were up to four stories high, so being supported by scissor or boom lifts as well as being able to operate them was essential for the artists. >more

Fleet of Potain Cranes constructing Residential Project in Regensburg REGENSBURG/GERMANY, August 1, 2017 – A new residential and commercial district, named “Das Dörnberg,” is currently being built in Regensburg, Bavaria. 13 Potain tower cranes are working on the large scale construction project, including a Potain GTMR 386, six MDT 218s, one MDT 192, three MDT 178s, one MDT 162 and one MD 120. The topless cranes were chosen for their ability to work in close proximity to one another. >more
Triflex Roof Refurbishment over Bitumen Membrane in Italy BRIXEN/ITALY, July 31, 2017 – Brixen Primary School in South Tyrol had plans to install photovoltaics on its flat roof, but first the roof waterproofing needed refurbishment. Triflex, a German-based company for construction chemicals, provided the solution: Triflex ProTect, a waterproofing system developed for flat roofs. The liquid applied waterproofing could be applied over the existing bitumen membrane, which spared the school the expense of replacing it. >more
Prince Lift buys new and refreshed Skyjack Units YONGIN/SOUTH KOREA, July 27, 2017 – Skyjack (Linamar Corporation) has announced that the Korean rental company Prince Lift is adding new and refreshed Skyjack mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) to their rental fleet in Yongin, following a trial purchase. Skyjack Manufacturing Southwest (Glendale, USA) provides the Refresh program – an option for rental companies to update their fleet while minimizing investments. >more
Uponor expands PEX Pipe Manufacturing in the US HUTCHINSON/USA, July 24, 2017 – Uponor North America has announced that the company has signed an agreement to purchase an existing 237,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and office space in Hutchinson, Minnesota. The 6.35 million US dollar investment is located about 70 miles west from its North American headquarters in Apple Valley. The company is acquiring the manufacturing plant to meet long-term demands. >more
GP MAT International installs six Raimondi Cranes in Parisian Suburb PARIS/FRANCE, July 21, 2017 – Italian crane manufacturer Raimondi’s exclusive agent in France, GP Mat International (GP MAT), has completed the installation of six cranes in Saclay, a southwestern suburb of Paris. Maurer designed Expansion Joints for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau-Bridge ZHUHAI/CHINA, April 26, 2017 – Presently, the 35 km long Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) is being constructed over the Pearl River Delta. One of many technical challenges is the Jianghai Bridge, a cable stayed bridge of 700 m main span. Vätterbygdens Kran AB expands Services with Demag All Terrain Crane JÖNKÖPING/SWEDEN, April 4, 2017 – The Swedish Vätterbygdens Kran AB, based out of Jönköping, adds a newly commissioned all terrain crane – the Demag AC 250-5 – to its range. The crane by the Terex brand Demag has a main boom length of 70 m (229.7 ft) and a 21-m (68.9 ft) folding swing away jib. German Construction Equipment Industry increased Turnover in 2016 FRANKFURT/GERMANY, March 3, 2017 – In 2016, German manufacturers of construction equipment achieved a turnover of 9.3 billion euros which is an increase of 3 percent compared to 2015. Within the same period world sales of construction equipment declined by 1 percent. Thus, German companies performed slightly better than the world market. Liebherr Concrete Mixing Plant used to expand Russian Airport MOSCOW/RUSSIA, February 17, 2017 – A Liebherr concrete mixing plant is currently being used to expand an airport in Moscow and is supplying concrete for a new runway. The Liebherr Betomix 4.5 DW works with the new generation of double-shaft mixer and has an output of up to 190 m³ per hour. Terex completes Sale of Material Handling and Port Solutions Business WESTPORT/USA, January 6, 2017 – Terex, manufacturer of lifting and material processing products, has sold its Material Handling and Port Solutions brand to Konecranes, a manufacturer of cranes and lifting equipment, headquartered in Hyvinkää, Finland.
