Skyjack uplifts Artists to transform Sacramento SACRAMENTO/USA, August 17, 2017 – Linamar Corporation’s (TSX-LNR) Skyjack division safely lifted artists from across the U.S. and the world to transform unused public space into vibrant art scenes during the inaugural Sacramento Mural Festival in California. Some of the murals were up to four stories high, so being supported by scissor or boom lifts as well as being able to operate them was essential for the artists. >more

Fleet of Potain Cranes constructing Residential Project in Regensburg REGENSBURG/GERMANY, August 1, 2017 – A new residential and commercial district, named “Das Dörnberg,” is currently being built in Regensburg, Bavaria. 13 Potain tower cranes are working on the large scale construction project, including a Potain GTMR 386, six MDT 218s, one MDT 192, three MDT 178s, one MDT 162 and one MD 120. The topless cranes were chosen for their ability to work in close proximity to one another. >more
Triflex Roof Refurbishment over Bitumen Membrane in Italy BRIXEN/ITALY, July 31, 2017 – Brixen Primary School in South Tyrol had plans to install photovoltaics on its flat roof, but first the roof waterproofing needed refurbishment. Triflex, a German-based company for construction chemicals, provided the solution: Triflex ProTect, a waterproofing system developed for flat roofs. The liquid applied waterproofing could be applied over the existing bitumen membrane, which spared the school the expense of replacing it. >more
Bauer supporting Resort Hotel Project in Sydney Harbor SYDNEY/AUSTRALIA, June 14, 2017 – Yet another distinctive building will soon adorn the skyline of the largest city in Australia: The new Crown Sydney Hotel Resort is currently being built in the Barangaroo South district. Doka-formworking Power for mega-scale Hydro in Canada WINNIPEG/CANADA, April 27, 2017 – Formwork manufacturer Doka has closed its biggest ever power-plant deal in North America: for the construction of the Keeyask Generating Station 300,000 sq ft of Doka formwork are in use. Maurer designed Expansion Joints for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau-Bridge ZHUHAI/CHINA, April 26, 2017 – Presently, the 35 km long Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) is being constructed over the Pearl River Delta. One of many technical challenges is the Jianghai Bridge, a cable stayed bridge of 700 m main span. ProjectWise Construction Management System by Bentley for Closure of polluted Dump HAGÅTÑA/GUAM, March 27, 2017 – Guam, an island located in the western Pacific Ocean and unincorporated and organized territory of the United States, needed to close a former military dump that was introducing polluted leachate into the Lonfit River. Maurer develops Earthquake Proof Pendulum Bearings for Taro-Bridge PARMA/ITALY, March 17, 2017 – For a new highway bridge near Parma, Maurer – a German-based specialist in mechanical engineering and steel construction – has developed a tailor made concept of pendulum bearings, lead rubber bearings and modular expansion joints. The bearings transfer vertical loads of up to 4,000 t, facilitate horizontal displacements in all directions, dissipate energies caused by earthquake and center the bridge after a seismic event. >more

The Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL) project off the northeastern coast of Scotland is scheduled to be up and running by 2019. Liebherr Concrete Mixing Plant used to expand Russian Airport MOSCOW/RUSSIA, February 17, 2017 – A Liebherr concrete mixing plant is currently being used to expand an airport in Moscow and is supplying concrete for a new runway. The Liebherr Betomix 4.5 DW works with the new generation of double-shaft mixer and has an output of up to 190 m³ per hour. A complete airport city is being constructed at the rapidly growing Domodedovo airport as part of the "Aerotropolis DME" project. >more

14 Groves perform Multi-Crane Lift ANTWERP/BELGIUM, January 11, 2017 – A total of 14 Manitowoc Grove cranes were used to simultaneously lift a pipeline in the course of an industrial plant project in Antwerp. Each of the GMK all-terrain cranes lifted a 6.1 tonnes section of the pipeline. The job posed a new – and successfully completed – challenge for the Belgian company Aertssen Kranen. >more
Caterpillar rolls out new Machines and Technology at Conexpo-Con/AGG 2017 LAS VEGAS/USA, January 4, 2017 – The Conexpo-Con/AGG, an international trade show for the construction industries will be held in Las Vegas from 7 to 11 March 2017. Luffing Jib Crane by Comansa CM launched at bauma China SHANGHAI/HANGZHOU/CHINA, December 6, 2016 – With more than 170.000 visitors, Shanghai’s bauma China is Asia’s most important trade show for construction machinery. Comansa CM chose it as the place to launch its first luffing jib tower crane, named CML190. Potain Cranes help CMB reshape Milan’s Skyline MILAN/ITALY, November 7, 2016 – Potain MDT 308 A cranes have been chosen to work on the Libeskind Tower, part of the CityLife Milano development, which comprises three high-rise towers. The building’s curved design presented Manitowoc engineers with a challenge in designing anchorages to attach the cranes to the building as it rises. Connecting Scotland: Wacker Neuson Equipment for new Queensferry Crossing SOUTH QUEENSFERRY/UK, October 18, 2016 – The Queensferry Crossing in the east of Scotland is a construction project of great importance for the Scottish traffic planning. New Terex Tower Crane makes a compelling Case as an All-Rounder WALDSHUT/GERMANY, September 15, 2016 – The Terex CTT 161 tower crane had proven its worth during the first stage of the new construction for a nursing home in Waldshut, Germany, so the construction company Schleith insisted on using a Terex crane for the second stage of construction as well. Bauer starts drilling large Diameter Boreholes for the Kesslergrube Remediation Project GRENZACH-WYHLEN/GERMANY, August 3, 2016 – The remediation project of the former Kesslergrube landfill in southwest Germany has been worked on by the responsible companies BASF and Roche since spring 2014. In summer 2015, Bauer Resources GmbH was assigned with the remediation of perimeter 1/3 NW of the former landfill by Roche Pharma AG. The primary task is to excavate and collect 280,000 tonnes of soil in safety containers. >more
Expansion of the Panama Canal completed: Peri contributed with innovative Climbing Technology PANAMA CANAL/PANAMA, July 29, 2016 – The expansion of the second most important waterway in the world is finished. Herrenknecht Rig helps building a speedy Pipeline Connection in Australia ANGLESEA/AUSTRALIA, July 8, 2016 – In just three months Australian drilling contractor Dunstans Construction Group installed a 700-meter-long pipeline in Anglesea (Victoria). A 250 tonnes HDD Rig from Herrenknecht played a key role in the achievement. Within a very short time the construction crew built a sea outfall with the machine, as well as pulling in the pipeline all the way back to the local water treatment plant. >more

A challenge that Wolffkran Austria faced in Ischgl, one of the largest ski resorts in the Alps. For the expansion of the ski lifts of Silvrettaseilbahn AG, the company assembled three Wolff WK 5015 cranes. These had to be flown to the construction site piece by piece and assembled with a heavy lift helicopter.
