Bauer Resources wins Soil Remediation Contract in the "Schwarze Pumpe" Industrial Area SPREMBERG/GERMANY, June 27, 2017 – The soil of the former grounds of a gas combination plant in the "Schwarze Pumpe" industrial area is highly contaminated which has led to groundwater pollution. Bauer Resources GmbH has been commissioned with the contract to remove this contamination by building and operating a vacuum treatment plant as well as replacing or decontaminating the soil. Remediation of the Kesslergrube Landfill: Bauer finishes large-diameter Boreholes GRENZACH-WYHLEN/GERMANY, May 29, 2017 – The German-based special civil engineering expert Bauer Spezialtiefbau GmbH has been carrying out drilling works as part of the remediation project on the former site of the Kesslergrube landfill since July 2016. The task was to drill the large-diameter boreholes for the construction of a secant pile wall – the project is nearly completed. Doka-formworking Power for mega-scale Hydro in Canada WINNIPEG/CANADA, April 27, 2017 – Formwork manufacturer Doka has closed its biggest ever power-plant deal in North America: for the construction of the Keeyask Generating Station 300,000 sq ft of Doka formwork are in use. Volvo amphibious Excavator helps with Restoration in Chesapeake Bay BALTIMORE/USA, April 10, 2017 – Maryland Environmental Service is using a Volvo amphibious excavator to restore Poplar Island, a once diminishing remote island habitat in the Chesapeake Bay, North America. Prime Horizontal launches MudVis System BEVERWIJK/THE NETHERLANDS, February 2, 2017 – Dutch-based Prime Horizontal, supplier for HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling), is launching a newly developed, automated mud viscosity and specific gravity measuring and logging system called MudVis. Exemplary Pipeline Crossing using Herrenknecht Technology WIERZCHOWICE/CZESZÓW/POLAND, January 24, 2017 – In the fall of 2016, drilling contractor PPI Chrobok S.A. installed two new gas pipelines in Poland. The alignment runs along existing gas lines and through geologically challenging terrain. 14 Groves perform Multi-Crane Lift ANTWERP/BELGIUM, January 11, 2017 – A total of 14 Manitowoc Grove cranes were used to simultaneously lift a pipeline in the course of an industrial plant project in Antwerp. Each of the GMK all-terrain cranes lifted a 6.1 tonnes section of the pipeline. The job posed a new – and successfully completed – challenge for the Belgian company Aertssen Kranen. >more

ProKasro cures a 280 m long Liner under Vistula River KRAKOW/POLAND, October 31, 2016 – A culvert running under the Vistula river in Poland was in need of renovation, which involved curing of a 280 metres long liner. MB supplying Screening Buckets for Caucasus Pipeline Project BAKU/AZERBAIJAN, September 14, 2016 – The 692 km South Caucasus Pipeline has been designed to transport gas from the Shah Deniz field in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea, through Georgia and on to the Georgia-Turkey border. Bauer starts drilling large Diameter Boreholes for the Kesslergrube Remediation Project GRENZACH-WYHLEN/GERMANY, August 3, 2016 – The remediation project of the former Kesslergrube landfill in southwest Germany has been worked on by the responsible companies BASF and Roche since spring 2014. In summer 2015, Bauer Resources GmbH was assigned with the remediation of perimeter 1/3 NW of the former landfill by Roche Pharma AG. The primary task is to excavate and collect 280,000 tonnes of soil in safety containers. >more

New Genie Rotating Telehandler Helps Build Tunnel in Italy CAPOSELE/ITALY, January 15, 2016 – A rotating telehandler – the new Genie GTH-5021 R – supports the complex drilling and consolidation of a water tunnel near Caposele in southern Italy. The tunnel, named the Pavoncelli Bis, is being built to replace the original early 20th century Pavoncelli Tunnel. The latter was closed following damage caused by an earthquake that affected the Campania region surrounding Naples in 1980. >more

Berlin’s New U-Bahn: East-West Gap Closed BERLIN/GERMANY, November 4, 2015 – The tunnel boring machine (TBM) “Bärlinde”, a Herrenknecht Mixshield, has successfully reached its target at Berlin’s touristic Brandenburg gate. The undercutting of the river Spree and the Spree Canal with overburdens of sometimes only five meters was a challenge. Thanks to modifications to the machine, elaborate ballasting of the river and canal beds with steel plates was not required. >more
Safe Pipe Jacking in Difficult Conditions BERLIN/GERMANY, September 8, 2015 – The advantages of trenchless pipeline construction stand out most in urban spaces with dense buildings and roads. In this case, a 30 metre gas connection pipe had to cross a busy trunk road. Innovative Spiral-Wound Technology Solution for custom-shaped Storm Water Pipe SCHIEDER-SCHWALENBERG/GERMANY, August 14, 2013 – The local wastewater authority SIARE (Syndicat lntercommunal d'Assainissement de la Région d'Enghien) had instructed the rehabilitation of its custom-shaped storm water pipe with the Spiral-Wound product SPR after a collapse caused by material fatigue. 110 m of the broken water pipe was rehabilitated within seven weeks. The pipe, based on a box shape with a height of 1150 mm and a width of 2600 mm, is located beneath the road Rue d’Enghien in the French City of Eaubonne, a suburb of Paris. >more

The machines mastered challenging tunnelling stretches with small overburdens. The last breakthrough, for the time being, was celebrated on March 3, 2013.
